When you read the title, were you stoked!? I mean, VEGAN PARMESAN CHEESE PEOPLE!!! Show some enthusiasm! This calls for party hats and endless rolls of multicolored streamers. Definitely praise worthy!

Ok that’s better…I knew you couldn’t contain yourself. 🙂

That’s how I felt when I stumbled across a similar version in Vegan Health and Fitness Magazine. This mag was like finding gold in the bookstore. On a side note, there is a lack of vegan magazines- the closest one I could find prior was Vegetarian Times, but their “holier-than-thou” attitude while still supporting the dairy and egg industry makes my head hurt. SO, finding an all-vegan magazine had me yanking money out of my pockets faster than a gun slinger in the wild west.

Within the pages I found a recipe for vegan parm- which looked very promising.

The recipe called for running almonds through a food processor…but I found a quicker way. Almond meal.

If you’ve ever bought almond meal, you can see how it already has the texture of sprinkle cheese. Add some nutritional yeast- and viola! You have yourself the perfect compliment to any meal.

Here’s my adaptation for your very own sprinkle cheese. You can tweak it to your tastes, adding more (or less) nutritional yeast.

Vegan Parmesan “Sprinkle” Cheese


  • Almond meal
  • Nutritional yeast flakes
  • Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper


  1. Mix equal parts almond meal and nutritional yeast flakes.
  2. Add a generous amount of Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  3. Mix and enjoy on top of some noodles or sketti!
